This uprated aluminium intercooler is engineered and manufactured in-house in the UK to deliver significantly improved charge-air cooling compared to the factory unit.

The core thickness is increased from the original 30mm OEM core to a heavy-duty 60mm performance core, providing a substantial increase in cooling capacity and airflow efficiency.

With 21 multi-gallery extruded tubes, the intercooler improves heat dissipation and maintains performance under load, making it an ideal Defender TD5 intercooler upgrade for vehicles used for towing, touring, off-road driving, or tuned engines.

Bulldog Core Technology

This intercooler features our “Bulldog” Dimple Wave Tube Core, designed for heavy-duty use, off-road environments, and demanding terrain.

The name Bulldog is inspired by our experience working with the FV430 Bulldog, where maintaining reliable engine cooling in harsh conditions is essential. Lessons learned from military cooling applications directly influenced the development of this core design.

The dimple wave tube construction increases airflow turbulence inside the tubes, improving heat transfer while maintaining excellent structural strength. This makes it particularly effective where airflow is limited, such as off-road driving, towing, or slow-speed terrain.

The small surface dimples also help prevent mud and debris compacting tightly in the core. After off-road driving, mud tends to sit within the indentations rather than packing solidly between fins, making the intercooler much easier to clean.
